Back to Basics: Share Codes

Every account, Location, and Group is associated with a Share Code, a unique value in the Ambra system. This Share Code provides users with a way to send studies across accounts without having anything pre-configured.

For example, you are talking to another facility about sharing images and you discover both facilities use Ambra. While you don’t have a PACS to PACS connection set up yet, you are wondering if there is an easy way to get the image from your Ambra account to theirs.

The Solution: Send via Share Code! Click on the box next to the study you would like to share, go to the Actions Dropdown, and select Share. When the pop-up appears, click on the Share Code tab and enter the Share Code provided to you by the other facility.

How do I know what Share Code is associated with a Group or Location?

Go to the Groups or Locations tab under Administration. The Share Code is listed in the second column.

What if my Group or Location doesn’t have a Share Code?

To add a Share Code to your Group or Location, click on the Edit button next to that Group or Location. You can use whatever string you would like, so long as that code does not already exist in the Ambra system.

For more information or questions about Ambra Health’s Share Codes please reach out to our Customer Success Team at updates@ambrahealth.com so we can help configure it.
