What to Expect at HIMSS

As we prepare for HIMSS 2018, we are excited about the great food, casinos, and fun times to see the latest and greatest in health IT. We’ve predicted that 2018 will be a huge year in health IT, with tech titans moving into the healthcare realm, new patient preferences, and expanding networks. HIMSS will bring many of these trends to life and deciding which sessions to attend or what booths to visit may be overwhelming.

We are here to help! We created a show guide to save you some time and learn valuable insights from the industry’s best and brightest. Some of the most interesting “must attend” sessions, in our opinion, are:

HIE Image Sharing for a Statewide Stroke Network
Hear how CRISP (the HIE serving the Maryland and DC regions) has been able to implement an image exchange service for specialists at trauma centers.
Tuesday, March 6th at 2:30-3:30pm PT

Machine Learning: Another Piece of the AI Puzzle in Healthcare
AI is everywhere, but how will it really affect healthcare? Attend this session to find out.
Wednesday, March 7th from 10am-11am PT

Google Cloud Tech Partner Panel
Google will be hosting a panel at their booth, Booth #2829, with leaders across the health IT industry including Ambra Health’s CEO, Morris Panner. Expect to hear what cloud partnerships & AI have in store for healthcare and medical imaging.
Wednesday, March 7th from 1-3pm PT

Stanford Children’s Outside Image Management Journey
Hear Stanford thought-leaders Lisa Grism and Dr. Safwan Halabi talk about how they streamlined their outside image management strategy to continue to provide world-class care to pediatric patients.
Friday, March 9th at 10:30-11:30am PT

The fun doesn’t stop at HIMSS! After the show, expect to see a video from CommonWell TV with Morris Panner, CEO of Ambra Health. The CommonWell Health Alliance is focused on the interoperability for the common good. For Health IT to work, it must be interoperable, and you’ll hear Morris discussing why the healthcare industry struggles to establish a more open network. In the lead up to HIMSS, be sure to check out the CommonWell Health Alliance blog, which has been featuring thought-provoking articles on patient access, referral networks, and vendor cooperation across the industry.

After the show, you can also expect to see a video on Amazon Web Services Startups on Air channel featuring Morris Panner discussing Ambra’s cloud capabilities.

Stay tuned for some additional exciting news that we’ll be announcing live at the show and don’t forget to visit us at Booth #8324! We look forward to seeing you for a complementary imaging strategy assessment or some maybe just some candy. Either way, we can’t wait for the show!
