DICOM Grid is Now Ambra Health

Ambra HealthDICOM Grid is excited to reveal a new name, brand identity and website – Ambra Health.

Of course, the first two questions that come to mind when you hear this news will be, “Why the name change?” and “Why now?”.

We believe that medical imaging is an essential part of patient care, and it’s undergoing a giant revolution. Value-based care models have replaced old ones, and facilities are managing more new imaging types, non-DICOM imaging, and other large datasets of medical information all while  expanding at a rapid pace. As facilities expand, patients may move through more than one facility, utilize telemedicine resources or mobile apps, and require access to patient portals— making what happens to a patient outside the hospital as important as what happens inside the hospital. We believe that medical imaging and data should not be trapped in siloed systems causing frustration for facilities; healthcare facilities should be empowered to use medical data to improve patient care and business outcomes.

This is just a piece of the overall revolution currently occurring in healthcare – rising costs, personalization of information, the consolidation of providers into large networks, and new technologies like the cloud. These drivers all call for innovation in medical data and image management well beyond the original beginnings of DICOM imaging, which is why we felt the time was right to change our name from DICOM Grid to Ambra Health as we help usher in your medical imaging cloud for the future of healthcare.

The name change and new brand also reflect the recent dynamic growth experienced by Ambra Health. Just in the past 12 months, Ambra Health repeated its win of the prestigious KLAS award for best medical image exchange vendor for the second year in a row. It also added marquee healthcare providers to its customer-base such as Stanford Children’s Health, Weill Cornell, Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Jefferson Radiology, New England Baptist Hospital, and CareWell Urgent Care. Over 750 healthcare providers share images using the Ambra Health network today, resulting in 750,000+ user logins per month from across 50+ countries worldwide, an astounding growth of 500% year-over-year

We hope you enjoy exploring our new site, learning more about the Ambra platform and reading insights from other providers. Shoot us a note if you have any feedback, questions, or comments you’d like to share! Our team is always ready to listen.
Sincerely,
Morris Panner
CEO, Ambra Health
