DG ImageShare Nabs “Minnies” Nomination for “Best New Radiology Software”

Phoenix, AZ – September 1, 2014DICOM Grid, a leading provider of medical imaging software, announced today that DG ImageShare, a web-based medical image distribution service, has been nominated for the coveted 2014 “Minnies” award for “Best New Radiology Software”.

The awards are sponsored by Auntminnie.com, a comprehensive community website for radiologists and related professionals in the medical imaging industry.  Since 1999, the “Minnies” have provided a forum for radiology professionals to acknowledge the contributions of their peers. The awards take place each year to recognize the best and brightest in medical imaging prior to the annual Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) meeting held in Chicago. For the 2014 edition, there were 201 candidates across 14 categories with nominations being made by AuntMinnie.com members.

DG ImageShare, which debuted at the 2013 RSNA conference, allows patients, as well as providers, to quickly access, view, and share imaging and other medical records online.

The secure, electronic sharing of images provides a simple alternative to image distribution via CD and offers significant benefits to both patients and care providers. Using DG ImageShare, patients can access copies of their medical images—X-Rays, CTs, MRIs and ultrasounds—and keep them in online Personal Health Record (PHR) accounts. A three-step process guides patients through the account creation. Once an account is set-up, patients can login at any time to upload and view exams, and share imaging information with specialists.  Providers can use the platform to easily retrieve patient exams, which can improve time-to-care delivery and reduce the need for duplicate and unnecessary procedures.

“Personal Health Records are transformative by giving patients better control and insight into their health information and diagnostic data. Cloud-based software solutions, like DG ImageShare, are cornerstone to this mission,” comments CEO, Morris Panner. “I couldn’t be happier with the recognition we have received from Aunt Minnie and the radiology community.”
