Live from the HIMSS17 show floor in Orlando, Florida, CommonWell TV interviewed Morris Panner, CEO of Ambra Health. CommonWell Health Alliance®, understands that in order for health IT to work, it must be inherently interoperable. Together with their service provider and members, CommonWell is creating and executing a vendor-neutral platform that breaks down the technological and process barriers that currently inhibit effective health data exchange. They are committed to defining and promoting a national infrastructure with common standards and policies. Ambra Health is proud to be a Contributor Member of CommonWell Health Alliance and partner together to support interoperability for the common good.
As Morris notes in the interview, when Superman was asked to pick a super power, he wanted x-ray vision. Likewise, no patient health record is complete without medical imaging. However, intertwining data and medical imaging isn’t as easy as it sounds. Value-based care models have pushed a greater move towards interoperability, and Ambra Health works to provide the tools that allow organizations to achieve these goals.
Part of this movement includes the launch from HIMSS17 of Ambra for Developers, a cloud development platform for medical imaging. Built around modern, RESTful web-services, this is the first cloud development platform designed specifically for medical imaging. With these new APIs, IT departments at health systems and hospitals can easily extend imaging and imaging data into other applications such as population health or reporting tools. In addition, third-party developers can rapidly incorporate Ambra imaging technologies as part of a wide variety of healthcare applications, providing users with new capabilities for better patient care.
In the interview, Morris shares how patient consumer trends and genomic data will also impact the healthcare industry. Check out the video below!
